Weekend full of birthdays!

What a weekend! It went by so fast! It started on friday afternoon with family and friends arriving. (They all drove 2.5 hours to be with us!) We ate, talked, played, shopped, watched a movie, and had a blast. We had a great time celebrating 3 birthdays and eating 3 cakes that Auntie Rachel made! Auntie Christina came on saturday just in time to eat a yummy meal at Dana's. We had a big BBQ later for dinner and more cake :) We miss everyone since they all left yesterday. Can't wait to do it again for Brady's 1st birthday the weekend of July 4th :)

Update on Brady!

So my little guy has gone through so much these past few months being sick all the time and coughing almost constantly! All those times we were told he had bronchitis he actually was suffering from ASTHMA! Can you believe it?!?! I was actually shocked but so happy we knew why he was felling so icky. Apparently it can be hard to determine on a small baby. And add that with him having all the symptoms of bronchitis and other respiratory issues it was a hard one I guess. Our doctor, Dr. Bross is amazing! I LOVE her, she is kind and so understanding of this since she has it to. So we are on 3 different medicines daily since he has been suffering an attack for awhile now. Two of the medicines are ones he will be on daily forever, they are long term to help prevent attacks. And one is for instant relief when he is struggling to stop coughing and/or breathe. Thank goodness for great medical insurance since it is over $850 a month for the 3 medicines and of that we are only responsible for $70 of it! We go back to the doctor in two weeks for a check up and I will update you more then! Also he is allergic to milk and I posted about the new formula he is on. He will stay on that until he is 12 months (2 more months to go) and then he will be on rice milk. Not sure where to get that or if it will taste good but it's what he can have. He has to be off all dairy, eggs and peanut butter until he's 2 years old and we can try to re-introduce those again and see how he does. She said he might out grow it but he may not. I pray he does. I can't imagine life without cheese and strawberry ice cream! Poor boy gets italian ice for his bithday! Anyways, I hope you are all having a wonderful wednesday!

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY LEXI

5 years ago today I experienced the worst c-section EVER!!! I felt EVERYTHING! The doctor tried to make me comfortable with morphine and if didn't really help. Lexi was delivered 4 weeks early due to a pre-eclampsia scare I had with Makenna and I was starting to develop all the signs again. The delivery was fast and all my family was there to cheer me on! Finally we had this perfect sweet baby girl. She is tons of fun and so sweet. She keeps us on our toes and loves to talk, dress-up and she loves her jewelry! She is all girl!!! We love you Lexi and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

I got this as an email and had to share.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in
a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front
of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then
asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between
the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They
agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar
was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space
between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and
your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they
remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and
your car.

The sand is everything else--the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the
jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf
balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the
small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to
you.

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with
your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to
dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and
fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really
matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.

"It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Poor Lorelai :(

All the kids have been sick this past week. Lorelai and Brady however, have been the sickest of the 5! Lorelai was so tired but didn't want to miss anything so she refused to move off the stool and lay on the couch, that is until she fell off the stool :( Poor girl just can't catch a break! Thankfully, today they all seem to be doing better and the fevers are all down.

Visitors :)

Gamma and Auntie came to visit just for overnight and most of the next day after spending the weekend with my brother for Mom's weekend at WSU. They are coming back in about 10 days for the weekend and bringing my Dad too for Lexi's birthday weekend! We had lots of fun and miss them so much already! The girls cried when they left...so sad! But they will be back soon. You too Christina, right?

Brady is not feeling well again, but....

This time it's because of his excema! The doctor took him off his regular formula and put him on this to try:

Nutramigen® Lipil® is a hypoallergenic, lactose-free formula for babies who develop cow's milk protein allergy symptoms such as excessive crying or rash. Lipil is a blend of DHA and ARA, important nutrients also found in breast milk that promote brain and eye development.

He's not crying from colic but he has the excema REALLY bad all over his tiny little body! I can already see a difference in his face from last night. It was so bad his skin was cracking and bleeding. I am so excited that maybe this will make my baby so much happier!

UPDATE: Well, his rash is disappearing! I still have some doubts that this is really what will make a difference but we will know for sure in a few more days! This formula is quite expensive but if it works I am completely for it! ($22 for the other stuff and $56 a can for the new stuff!) But, if it's what's doing the trick then it's going to make my little man much more comfortable. It says that it will show a big difference in only 48 hours! He has been such a trooper. He is always a happy boy even when he's sick!

The Weekend

Well, we had a VERY BUSY weekend. Here are some of the highlights....

  • Grandpa Doug, Grandma Claudia, Uncle Jordan, Auntie Shina and Cousin Eli came on thursday night and stayed through sunday for a visit.
  • The guys went to the gun range 3 times!
  • We ate at our favorite resturant here in Moses Lake, Dana's!
  • Went to the Tri-Cities and got our snow tires off and spent $900 on new tires, ate at Red Robin, went to Costco to get some shopping done but instead we left with 8 plants Brandon wanted. Had to leave the groceries for next weekend when we go to Spokane :) We ran out of room in the Suburban since we had the back filled with 4 snow tires and plants!!!!!
  • Got together with friends, The Horney's! Had a wonderful visit and ate food!
  • Went to Church
  • Got a visit with The Jarisch family. They stopped by on their way home from Spokane and stayed for a few hours. The guys went shooting and us girls stayed back and talked and of course took care of the youngins :)
  • Had a mini Birthday party for Brandon since he will be turning 32 next sunday! Ate cake and ice cream.
  • Said GOODBYE to the company, feed the kids dinner, put them to bed, visted with Nathan, watched Criminal Minds and passed out from being soooooooooo tired!
Fun times :) Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!
